Prajapathi: From Stage Legacy to Global Cinema

The Untold Story Behind Prajapati: Jaya Rubert’s Life of Faith

Every ministry has a hidden pillar—a person whose quiet strength and unshakable faith carry the vision forward. For the Prajapathi ministry, that pillar is Jaya Rubert, a woman whose life was marked by suffering, but transformed into a living testimony of God’s grace.

Here is her testimony, in her own words:

My husband was working in the Electricity Board. He had a deep passion for music and a strong desire to grow in that field. We were living in Madurai, but since it was difficult to progress in music there, we moved to Chennai in 1984.

We came from a traditional family background, but we did not have a true spiritual understanding or experience of God.

After moving to Chennai, my husband gained many friends in the music field. Seeing his talent and interest, they encouraged him to enter the film industry, saying he could grow well there. With that encouragement, he worked very hard to establish himself in cinema music. After struggling for a year, he got opportunities to compose music for three films, but unfortunately, none of them were released.

Later, he received an opportunity in a well-known production company. During that time, one of his close friends suddenly passed away. This loss deeply affected us because my husband had depended on him for his progress in the film industry.

Gradually, we drifted away from God. Even attending church became difficult. Problems started increasing both in his workplace and career. His superior at work began to trouble him, and our life entered a very difficult and unstable phase.

Some people told us that something negative had been done against our family, and that it had first affected his friend and would now affect my husband. Fear and confusion surrounded us. Support from relatives also decreased. Life felt completely dark.

In that situation, one day my husband said that we should end our lives. I also agreed, and we decided to do it after a couple of days.

The next day, when my husband had gone out, I was alone at home and afraid. At that time, I heard a song on the radio, “Oppuvithen Ayyane.” As I listened, I broke down in tears, and my fear began to reduce.

I closed the door and prayed with tears. That day, for the first time in my life, I cried out to God deeply, asking, “Lord, are You truly alive?”

At that moment, I heard a voice saying, “Take the book and read.” I picked up the Bible and began reading. I felt the presence of God. I confessed all my sins and prayed, “Jesus, cleanse me with Your blood.” Immediately, a deep peace and joy filled my heart.

At that moment, I surrendered myself and my husband completely to God.

When my husband returned home that day, his thoughts of suicide had completely changed. He began going to work regularly again.

The next day, I again prayed asking if God was truly present. I strongly felt His presence, as if He was with me. I spoke to Him like a child speaking to a father.

I began receiving answers to my prayers through my husband. The superior who troubled him at work suddenly disappeared from the situation. The problems we faced in our career were also resolved.

At that time, I made three commitments to God:

  1. No matter what happens in my life, I will not question God
  2. My husband’s talents will be used only for God
  3. I do not desire worldly children; spiritual children are enough

Since then, we have been blessed with many spiritual children—from young children to elderly people.

Today, we serve among people in different areas. Instead of us searching for people, God brings those in need to us, and we guide them.

What began as a monthly prayer meeting has now grown into a weekly gathering. Around 400 families have been touched and transformed.

We have named this ministry Alleluia Prayer Fellowship, and along with this, we continue the Prajapathi work.
